Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Why does Flip4Mac encode take so DAMN LONG?

That’s odd, I am using compressor with Flip4Mac, and I have my local cluster set up with all 8 cores, and activity monitor shows less than 20% useage on each core. I’m compressing a 34 minute self contained DVCPRO50 movie, and it is going to take 45 minutes. This is with it set to 320×240 800kb Offline fast in F4M window, and everything else turned off in compressor’s controls.

    This stinks.

Its more fun to ride a slow motorcycle fast than a fast motorcycle slow…

Yes, flip4mac would have to write their software to work as a plugin with compressor. I don’t see them doing that as they write their own Compression software called Episode.

    Cheers.
