Why does Final Cut reset my Settings every other time I start up?
Posted by Zach Rutledge on July 6, 2007 at 8:14 pmThis has been an ongoing problem since I got my iMac. It seems that almost every other time I start up Final Cut Pro 5 my default settings for sequences, capture and even my window layout all get reset to the original default. Why does this happen and is there a way to prevent it from doing this?

July 6, 2007 at 8:31 pmnot sure, but final cut rescue would enable you to back
all that up and restore it in 1 click. -

July 6, 2007 at 8:43 pmThis can happen if you’re not an admin user or have other permissions problems. In addition to trashing your prefs try repair permissions.
All the best,

July 6, 2007 at 9:20 pmI am the admin user and I am not trashing my permissions unless that is a setting that can be checked and if it is how do I uncheck it 😀

July 8, 2007 at 6:27 amone thing that would create that behaviour is if you’d locked your preferences files,
or if for some reason they were read only.nick

July 9, 2007 at 12:48 pmI had a similar problem. It seemed to be because I had saved some Boris Continuum Complete FX as Favorites. It didn’t like that for some reason.
