  • Why does FCP create two extra Render folders on my drive?

Posted by Ian Dillon on May 7, 2008 at 9:42 pm

It seems Final Cut creates an extra “Audio Render Files” folder and an extra “Render Files” folder outside of the “Capture Scratch” folder on my drive. These same folders exist in the “Capture Scratch” folder so they seem to be duplicates. Final Cut doesn’t put any files in them.
    Why are they there?
Did I set up my scratch disks wrong?
    Can I delete them?

    Thanks in advance!

At some point when you trashed your prefs, you had reset your scratch disk to go inside of your capture scratch folder instead of your FCP documents folder. No big deal either way as it’s not hurting anything, just might cause some corn-fusion.
