Why do I get 8 tracks from a 4 track clip that I compress in compressor?
Hi All,
So I’m trying to convert my 2k dailies into 422 prorez files to edit in FCP7
I’m sending each clip to compressor and it gives me an extra 4 blank tracks… what am I doing wrong?
Also I tried using a droplet but I can seem to make FCP “see” it when I send out to compressor.
Camera:Alexa
Hardware: FCP 7 with macbook pro(late2011) lion x /2-4tb G-Raid drives.
Initial creation of dailies:
In browser I had my dailies arranged in sequences by scene i.e. sc.1 had it’s own sequence,Sc.2,Sc.3 etc.
Since I needed and wanted to work with individual clips I linked/copied/pasted each take and made a clip.Each clip copied the exact number of trks.

Apple Pro Res 444 2048×1152 24 fps 16:9
squarepixels 46Khz 16bit
Destination codec
Apple Pro Res 422 proxy audio pass thru
for FCP 7 editing.
