  • Why can’t I loop a composition in After Effects?

    I have a 4 minute composition created in After Effects that I need to loop… can this be done?

    Any help is greatly apprreciated!!

    yes if every layer in your composition has the same end keyframe as the first keyframe(ie the same parameters)…then join your first composition with a duplicate composition minus 1 frame in the begining of your 2nd duplicated composition…or u can use an expression…cheers…merv

    1. Expressions;
    a) apply Time Remapping to the nested comp
    b) select the Time Remap keyframes, and apply expression: Property > loopOutDuration.

    2. render out a proxy of the nested comp, and loop this. will loop faster and more efficient for preview, but still has to be overridden when rendering out final version.

    if anyone has another way, please let know! weird limitation, for which I cannot see a reason.
