  Why are there overlay functions in the Nvidia Quadro FX 500? It seems to be a hassle.

  does anyone know why you can adjust the overlay controls in the nvidia quadro fx500 card? it causes my avid preview monitor to darken whenver i hit play in the timeline.

  i know i can adjust the overlay controls to fix it, but why is it there in the first place? and is there anyway to just disable the thing???

  i feel like it is pure Hassle, and no good reason for it.

  anyone know what the benefits?
