I’m getting footage at very low bitrates, I was expecting at least 50-100MB/s from the HVX. I’ve tried both using the P2s and the firestore.

Here’s the specs of a specific file I’m importing.

    MXF file is 290 MB

    Imported File:

    DVCPro HD 720p60
    29.97fps
    960×720
    7.2 MB/s

File size of the MOV file is 153 MB

By my calculations, I should be getting at least 14 MB/s from the size of the MXF file. But shouldn’t I be getting 100MB per second?

100 megaBITS, not megaBytes. DVCPRO-HD is 100 megabits per second.

Get the most from your DVX camera. The DVX Book and DVX DVD are now available on ebay and at Amazon (https://www.fiftv.com/db)

Well I thought it was Mb/s too, But I’m copying what my final cut format info says. It has ‘MB/sec.’ Either way I shouldn’t be getting bitrates at 6.9 and 7.2, right? Anyone know whats going on here?

That’s 14 MBs @ 1080i 29.97. If you are recording 30pN (or any N) 720p, the data rate goes down.
