why AfterEffect still render the next frame to a static applied effect layer ?
friends,
I just don’t understand,
with SOME effects (not all)
why After Effect still render the layer though
there’s no keyframe at all ?For example, I’ve tried a FirTree plugin
applied to a layer with no motion, keyframes etc,
everything is static, and will display the same
image for say 3 seconds.I’m hoping soon AfterEffect render the 1st frame,
then it’ll ignore the rest of the frame
because there’s no difference at all
which will happen to the next frame.But it turned out that it still
render for the rest of the frames.I know I can just export the 1st frame
as a still image then, but I just don’t
quite understand why AfterEffect still
need to render the next frame to some effect.any kind of info will be greatly appreciated.

After Effects renders every frame. That’s just the way it works right now.
However, if you do a RAM preview of a sequence with 3 keyframes (for example), then change keyframe 1, it will only need to recreate the frames between keyframe 1 and keyframe 2, because nothing has changed between keyframe 2 and keyframe 3.
But as I wrote, as it is currenly designed, AE has to render every frame. This is why it’s always a good idea to save stills and re-import them, as you mentioned.
