codec conflict like XDcam in footage?

    Explain please…

I do not understand how three or more clips with so different file names can cause a conflict.
Resolve seems to be unable to conform them…i am just wondering why.
Its media our graphic artist made, AVID imported it and sent me an AAF.

The second one is just annoying as i am having 600 clips with just one or two frames all using that iphone recording named IMG_5844.mov and none is lininking to it.
And if they do, the TC is wrong, and it links only to the first frame every time.

If it’s just three clips, what happens if you manually conform them?

I agree regarding occasional mysteries of conform “conflicts”, I frequently see conflicts where more than one shot is matches, where there really shouldn’t be any doubt, e.g. the ReelID and TC are all very clear and there is only one actual match, and yet resolve will find alternate clips as possibilities. This is usually with XML. The matching logic with EDL seems more cut and dried.

It would be great if the matching logic for XML conform were outlined exactly somewhere so we could know the logic behind some of these mysterious extra matches and conform conflicts.

    Hi Marc,

nah, it’s more like 1200 clips, 600 offline and the rest conflicts..
    This is just a snip.

    Hi Peter,

    sure, that would be great.
    What do you need ?
Just the .aaf from the AVID ?

    Peter is on it…

In my case it is only (well, couple of hundred clips 😉 ) the VFX clips and they do all start on 000000.
They have no reel ID, that might also be an AE problem rendering QT instead of having a camera creating them.
All the source files from the Amira link as they should..
The thing is that i am not able to delete the VFX and load em through the timeline.
And i had the same problem with my consolidate last week.
No clips that have been generated and segmented would link back.

Yes, had this chat over breakfast with an interested individual mid-April of this year, somewhere in Las Vegas.

Its a problem. Thinking about the time-honoured approach of ACMADE/INK numbers that correspond to the original timeline, or something… imbed them in the export footage from the locked timeline as metadata so they will know where to go when you get them back on the farm?
