who is my server
I am making a web page for someone who has a domain name, but they don’t know the password or user name and they don’t know they bought it either. Should I tell this client to buy a new name?

sorry – i guess i’m not following the question – did you want to know where the domain was hosted so that you could get access to it?

quickest way is to go do a whois on network solutions – they’ll have the current registrar at the bottom, and then whomever the technical, admin or billing contact is should be able to retrieve the password or in general move it wherever they need to…
