  Whites are not so white

  I created a video in After Effects and exported it as Quicktime Animation with quality of 95. The white background (actually, a white solid) in the video is a nice white. When I compressed the quicktime video using Adobe Media Encoder and rendering as H.264, the white backgrounds became darker or grayish. What could be wrong? Thanks!
