    Hello,
Recently upon compressing my quicktime files into mpeg2 to be put on a DVD, a frame or two of white is being added to the end of the file. I’ve exhausted my compression options and have tried editing it out and recompressing, but to no avail.
Has anyone ran into this before, any ideas?
    thanks,

Try adding a couple of frames of black after your program, and render. I create Black from the matte generator in FCP. I think that this will solve your problem. Good Luck.

Tried that out, didn’t seem to do the trick.

Try adding a couple of frames of black AFTER your out point in the sequence before you compress. Don’t know why but it seems to work.

Yes you have to set your out point before the last frame of your clip or you will often get this white flash frame…don’t know why, but I get the same thing and this always fixes it. You could also trip the mpeg in DVDSP or whatever authoring program you use, but you have to trim to the next GOP and that only works out if you have enought tails to work with.

    Best,
    Eli

Amazing, it worked! Didn’t realize that the black was supposed to be after the out point.
    Thanks!
