White in canvas rather than clips!
Hi folks,
I am editing a DVCPRO HD project in FCP 6.0 with some HDV material thrown in. One day the canvas turned white while in pause, rather than showing the frame where the play head sits. This is very annoying because I often need to examine the shot, especially if there is any compositing, and it won’t let me do it unless the sequence is actually playing. Has this ever happened to you? Any solutions?

Go to the top middle above your viewer and there are three buttons. Click on the one on the right and go down and click on RGB instead of Alpha. That should do it.

when you get a few minutes, glance at the long list of FCP’s keyboard shortcuts. There seems to be one that changes the View from RGB to Alpha and it’s easy to hit by mistake. You can edit FCP’s keyboard shorties, see the manual.
