Which upgrade needed?
I have a retail version of FC studio 2 with Final cut pro 6.0.1. on a 2Ghz G5ppc with 4Gram. I was recently working on a project on someone elses computer, version unknown yet. Project is stored on a portable drive so I brought it home to work on and I get a message that the Files format is too new for this version of the application.
I am having a lot of difficulty figuring out what udate or upgrade I would need or should use to fix this problem.

i believe there are ways to find out exactly what version the project was created on by reading some of the metadata in the project file,
but i don’t know what they are, sorry.
simpler would be to contact the person who’s machine you were working on.you might as well use software update to upgrade to the latest version of FCP6.
(you wont be able to get FCP7 on your PPC)if the project IS FCP7
you’ll have to open it on an FCP7 system,
and save it out as an XML file, version 4.
this you could open into FCP6.nick
