Which should I get for editing iMac Retina or Mac Pro?
I’m hoping someone can help me! I am trying to decide which new Mac I should buy.
Which one PP CC 2015 (and after effects) will work better on. And I’m confused!!
I currently work on a Macbook Pro Retina mid 2012 with
2.6Ghz Intel Core i7 –
memory 8GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 –
Nvidia Geforce GT 650M 1024MB…I am looking to EITHER get an iMac 5K retina with
4.0GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 4.4GHz –
32GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM – 4x8GB –
1TB Flash Storage –
AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4GB GDDR5 –OR a Mac Pro with –
3.5GHz 6-core with 12MB of L3 cache –
16GB (4 x 4GB) of 1866MHz DDR3 ECC –
Dual AMD FirePro D700 GPUs with 6GB of GDDR5 VRAM each.CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!! I’m kinda lost…. I have a thunderbolt diplay so all is good there.
I am NO tech expert – and I have been confused by the differing opinions I’ve read online. So please be gentle 🙂

For now I would not recommend a mac for adobe Software. Try it on a pc and you’ll see what I mean.
But if it must be a mac, I would prefer the iMac. You really don’t wanna use the d700 gpu. It gets too hot. Result is white stripes in output or shutdown while rendering.Nils Welter
