  • Which Render Format when Syncing clips?

    Hi,
I’m syncing audio and video for something shot in double system. In the synchronize clip dialog there is a setting for render format which defaults to ProRes 422. Can anyone explain to me just what ‘render format’ is and what implications it will have down the line, please? The video was captured in Pro Res 422 HQ – Should I change the render format to ProRes HQ to be the same as the video clip?

Multicam/synced clips can be optimized to a unified codec for smoother playback. The final output however will pull from the original media so it’s not that important in terms of final quality.
