  • Which prefs file determines the default multiclip mode?

A challenge to all tinkerers out there —

I want to change the default multiclip mode (ie. the default selection in the dropdown menu in the dialog box that appears when you ‘make multiclip’). I want to change it from In Point to Timecode.

I don’t know of any way of changing this via the GUI — so I figure it must be controlled by a line of script hidden away somewhere in one of the prefs or config files…

I’ve had a quick look at some of the pref files using pList Editor, hoping to find something obvious to tweak — but I’m no codehead, so I’m probably not looking in the right place.

Anyone have any hints where it might be listed? Or, is there a different way to achieve this?

    cheers

It’s not a preference. It must be in the application code. Tinkering with that is a violation of the EULA.

    All the best,

    cheers for the reply, Tom.

That’s too bad — I thought it might’ve been similar to After Effects which allows some of its UI setup to be tweaked via its pref files.

    thanks
