I am filming in Hi Definition 1080i 50 and want to burn my film dvd studio pro

I have tried taking the film 1080i 50 to dvd studio pro hoping that studio pro would convert it automatically (this is the advice i was given in the apple shop) but i get an error message saying it does not recognise this format it says (One or more files failed to import. Common reasons for this are that they do not match the current project’s video standard or their file format is not supported.)

I have tried to convert the film to H.264 successfully and then importing it to DVD Studio Pro and get the same error message.

I am very confused by all the different formats

    Can anyone help please

    Lee-

Are you editing in FCP? I would recommend taking your video through compressor and using one of the compressor DVD settings to send your file to DVD Studio Pro. H.264 is not a DVD format. DVD’s are mpeg2.

    Hope this helps.

Depending on your editing format it might not recognize it.

Export it your timeline to Compressor using File > Export > Quicktime Movie. Leave it set to Current Settings and UNcheck “Make Self Contained Movie.”

In Compressor, import that file and then in the Settings, choose Best Quality 90 minute DVD. This will create the MPEG-2 and AC-3 files for your DVD.

Use DVD Studio Pro to make your DVD from those files.
