  • Which format to export?

I’m ultimately going to export to flv but I have a project in After Effects and want to open the final movie in Final Cut Pro to edit music since AE isnt that great for mixing music. I was wondering which format I should export in AE to bring in to FCP or Premiere. And then which format from FCP/Premiere to Sorenson Squeeze. I basically want the highest quality possible. I plan on making a flv format using the 700 preset

Try Lossless, or Quicktime’s Animation Codec at 100. That will give you maximum quality, although the files will be large.

[yikesmikes] “Try Lossless, or Quicktime’s Animation Codec at 100.”

Final Cut Pro will have to re-render your footage to match your FCP Sequence settings. So you’ll want to set your Sequence to match your render to maintain the highest quality you can.

And yes, Lossless files will be large. There are other options (Photo JPEG at 90+ quality), but high quality almost invariably means large files.
