Which FCPX Audio plugs will improve off-mic recording?
Client handed me footage shot (vertical, of course) with an iPhone. I’m dealing with audio that’s not unusable, but it does sound “off mic” and a bit hollow. Entertaining suggestions of which of the existing plugs in FCPX will fatten up that sound, reduce the hollowness, make it sound more as it should.

The freebies will take it to a certain level- noise reduction/normalization. But to really fix bad sound you need:

If I had money I’d buy Izotope.
I don’t have that kind of money right now, nor do my clients.
So the freebies will have to do for now.

No freebies beyond the built in enhancement tools in X- and some creative EQ/Compression. Garbage in garbage out as they say.

For $129 izotope RX elements probably has all the tools most editors would need to fix the audio issues they encounter day to day and way better than anything built into FCPX.

It depends on the material, every recording needs a different treatment.
