Which Effects Can Be Animated?
In trying to add effects to my videos, it seems like most of the effects I want to add don’t have an Animate button or a keyframe panel. Is there a list of effects that can be animated available somewhere? For example: Swirl can be animated but Newsprint cannot be animated, at least as far as I could tell. Is there a way to get an effect to fade in without using keyframes like fading out a clip while fading in the same clip with effects applied on lined up on another track?

OFX effects (such as Newsprint) are animated at parameter level – click small clock icon on the right side of each parameter

Thanks, that’s very helpful. Manuals need to be written by people who confront a program for the first time, lol!
