Looking for suggestions on which Deck Link Card I would need to purchase in order to bring digibeta video into vegas 5.0 (I’ll be upgrading to Vegas 6.O next week). Eventually I want to bring HD video into my Vegas machine. Would that be the same card or is that a different card?

Not sure, Maybe post on the blackmagic forum on the cow,, You will need a bunch of horsepower and 10K rpm drives, and plenty of them

there’s a article over at DV magazine on decklink HD card .. yes you can get a card that will do both …the big $$ difference for you will be SD ( digibeta) you might be able to do with current computer ? HD has different requirements = more $$$$$$$$$$$ ..
V5 you would use the decklink capture utility for i/o ..
V6 will do the i/o using decklink …

If you are using digibeta, you probably want SDI i/o, the cleanest path. It is nice to have component capability because you can use lower cost component monitors. If you think you are really going to need HD too, then…Decklink HD Pro is what I’d pick (can do SD and HD, + component monitoring).

HD-SDI requires a monster drive array- no way around it.

What do you consider “monster” What would I need for two to three hours of video?
    Thanks for all your help!!

Can anyone confirm that decklink cards are not compatible with the new Windows 64bit processors?
