Form Motion, you should render a Quicktime movie in the Animation codec, with alpha channel for transparency. Preferably, straight alpha. Not sure what the exact Motion settings would be, but the Motion help should, er, help.

If you get a white glow once you import it into AE, re-interpret the file (file>interpret footage>main) as “premultiplied” alpha, choosing white as the colour.

Save the Motion project. Quit motion. Change the name of the Motion project file (I would make a copy and change that one) from .motn to .mov, then import into AE.

    FYI, Choose Premultiplied with black
