which card specs is better for AE ?
Hello all,
Couldn’t find any more proffesional forum to ask my question more than this one 🙂
I wanna buy one of those display cards, 9500 or GT520…
they are both 1 GB dedicated memory
The difference is that one of them is DDR2 and 128 bit… the second is DDR3 and 64bit…
Which is better, the higher bit or higher DDR version ?
I use AE mostly, and sometimes i play games on the PC…
Any support/advise is greatly appreciated

AE renders on the CPU, not the GPU. AE likes fast multicore systems with lots of RAM.
There are a few third-party effects which are accelerated by the graphics card, but for general work, spending the money on RAM is usually the better bet.

I agree with Walter – RAM and cores is what AE likes. Unless you plan to use new generation 3d plugins which make use of the GPU, any decent card will do. For using FreeForm Pro or ShapeShifter AE you can check the recommended cards on mettle.com
