Which camera to buy on 10-20k budget – info on situation follows…
Hello to all you lovely Creative cow members. I would just like to say first, without you I would not be able to function….in the media world!
Question: and annoying one, possibly. Can you recommend with your expertise which camera to use for this situation…
I am producing…and this luxury car design company and luxury product design, needs a camera for their cameraman.
They are thinking Top gear depth, I am thinking canon 5d, however I was thinking pmw-ex3 in after thought with the full bundles of dollies etc…
But they need macro filming as well, and quite possibly slow-motion at 60fps which I know ex3 can do but only at 720p!
I am not a professional cameraman by any means but a camera that will do the above job and work well with fcp 7 workflow..
MAybe their budget needs to be higher?

Sounds like a good budget! The Ex3 is a very good camera. I have the ex1r myself. They have the same lenses. The macro function I really like. Is very well! The ex3 doesn’t have a good wide angle, but you can always mount another lens on it.
If you want good slow motion, go for the sony fs 700.
