I have Meyer’s Creating Motion Graphics With AE 4th Edition AND Abobe’s AE CS3 Pro Classroom In A Book. I wanna learn AE but I don’t need both, right?

Question: which one do I return ?

Firstly, I’ve not read either of these books, so take this with a pinch of salt. I would say return the Meyer book as it appears (from the title) to teach motion graphics only. The classroom in a book title will show you how to create motion graphics (e.g. moving text) and visual effects (e.g. compositing). Then again, if you’re not into VFX you could stick with the Meyer book.

I have the motion graphics book and it has been extremly helpful. Also I would recommend Meyer’s AE Apprentice.

Also, if compositing is your cup of tea I would highly recommend Adobe After Effects CS3 Professional Studio Techniques by Mark Christensen.

It’s a fantastic foundation for color correction, compositing, keying, working in 32bpc and more.
