  • Where is the WMV output interlace setting?

Posted by Luc Enders on September 15, 2008 at 2:49 pm

    Hi,

How do I set whether the output is rendered as progressive or interlaced with WMV? I don’t see an option in the custom dialogs.

I assume project properties all apply to the source files, and ‘render as’ is the place to specify the output format settings.
So where do I choose between progressive or interlace in WMV?

    Thanks!
    Luc

    Hi,

I’m quite sure Vegas supports only progressive WMV output.
Your project settings determine how to deinterlace, if your source footages are interlaced.

Ah thanks. I was afraid of that when I noticed only progressive templates:-(. I use now Sony YUV for intermediate as a workaround (and render with another program).

Downside is that I assume Vegas always deinterlaces at the conversion and then interlaces again when outputting (even uncompressed).

I doubt this. I think Vegas does deinterlace only when really necessary.
