  • where is my alpha channel

I made an alpha channel in Photoshop , brought the picture into AE, interpret footage, straight unmatted. It’s not showing up though unless I’m doing something wrong. Tried to view the channel in the comp and layer window but shows up as all white.
What should I be doing ?

    TIA
    Stuart

Edit: As stated above that was for a PSD file, I saved as a tiff and it’s working.

Maybe this is behavior for PSD files, because as a TIFF it’s fine.

What does it say in the Project Window, when you select the PSD? At the top next to the little Picture it should say if it has Alpha and what type.

    Or

Select the footage in the Project Window, Right Click>Interpret Footage>Main, then let AE Guess the Alpha, or select a different one and see if that helps. Many PSD’s, at least the ones created in AE when you Composition>Save Frame As>File, are Premultiplied.
