    Hello all,

I’m in dire need of some help. I’ve used Premiere a long time and never found this. I’ve edited my 40 minute sequence all nicely, it’s done, it’s finished. I opened it up today to find thick grey bars across the footage and audio TRACK on the timeline, and the monitor doesn’t recognise the footage or sound it at all. No big red ‘media offline’ screen, just nothing. Even more annoying it is has done it to two entirely seperate sections that came from the same tape, but other portions from the same tape are entirely fine.

    Please help!

I would try putting the footage offline and relinking again.
It could also be that your footage got corrupted somehow, does it play in windows media player ?

I have found this happening when I have two seperate footage folders with the same name; even if they are on seperate internal drives. CS3 auto detects the wrong folder. The trick is to rename the folders and re-open the project file and point it to the correct files.

    Thank You Vince & Chris,

I found the problem, it was vaguel similar to Chris’ problem in that the project had auto-detected the wrong clips. Thank you both
