  • Where does Vegas Pro 9 install files?

    Long story short:

I had to install/uninstall/reinstall Vegas Pro 9 multiple times and it seemed to take up more hard drive space each time. Does anyone know where Vegas installs files besides the ‘Program Files’ folder? I’d like to get the hard drive space back.

I’m using Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.

Sony products also create a “Sony Setup” folder under Program Files that contain the installation files in case you need to repair an install. You can safely delete these. Also clean out your TEMP folder. You can usually open the Windows Explorer and type %TEMP% into the address bar to get to this folder.

Yes I deleted all those folders/files. I wondered if the installer was extracting in other locations as well, which it was not. It turns out the problem was with Vista’s system restore. Every time I installed Vegas it created another system restore point.
