    Hi all.
I made a copy of a project to work with to try to get a fresh start on managing the timeline, clips, etc. So I’m working with “Copy of XXX,” XXX being the original project file.

I see the project file named XXX in my FCP folder on the startup drive, but can’t find “Copy of XXX” anywhere. Does it exist as a separate file or have I just created some kind of alternate sequence that resides somewhere in hidden form? What if I wanted to delete the original XXX and rename the copy as XXX? Is that possible?

I can’t find this stuff in the manual or the FCP2 book I have. Is there any good reference to location and naming for FCP files (not clips) in the browser?

    Thanks,
    Robert

Running FCP2 on OS 9.2.2 in their own partition on a G4 Tibook with 1 mg RAM, external firewire 7200 rpm hard drive.

Apart from the project file itself – all other resources will be as per the original.

I.e. The copy project will refer to the same capture scratch footage etc as the original project. Only a new project has naming rights over resources folders.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Sorry – misunderstood the question.

I’m a long time out of OS9. I would suggest looking in the OS default documents folder but other than that I’m all out.

Next time do a ‘save as’ to a nominated location such as the desktop.
