Where do the files live and what are they called?
Hi all.
I made a copy of a project to work with to try to get a fresh start on managing the timeline, clips, etc. So I’m working with “Copy of XXX,” XXX being the original project file.I see the project file named XXX in my FCP folder on the startup drive, but can’t find “Copy of XXX” anywhere. Does it exist as a separate file or have I just created some kind of alternate sequence that resides somewhere in hidden form? What if I wanted to delete the original XXX and rename the copy as XXX? Is that possible?
I can’t find this stuff in the manual or the FCP2 book I have. Is there any good reference to location and naming for FCP files (not clips) in the browser?

RobertRunning FCP2 on OS 9.2.2 in their own partition on a G4 Tibook with 1 mg RAM, external firewire 7200 rpm hard drive.

Apart from the project file itself – all other resources will be as per the original.
I.e. The copy project will refer to the same capture scratch footage etc as the original project. Only a new project has naming rights over resources folders.

Sorry – misunderstood the question.
I’m a long time out of OS9. I would suggest looking in the OS default documents folder but other than that I’m all out.
Next time do a ‘save as’ to a nominated location such as the desktop.
