  • Where do I download the Blackmagic codecs these days?

I have a lot of old material in Blackmagic’s 10-bit codec, and after a clean OS install, I no longer have the codec. I went to Blackmagic’s site and it doesn’t seem to be available there any more! Does anyone know where I can find the codec?

Codecs come with the drivers: http://blackmagic-design.com/support/software/

By the way… there’s a Blackmagic forum here on the COW.

Thanks, didn’t know there was a Blackmagic forum!

Problem is, I don’t have any Blackmagic hardware. I often use BM codecs when preparing final renders for tape layoff at an external facility. The site used to have a codec-only download for just this purpose. Now I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

    Hey Tom,

You don’t need BM hardware to download the codecs. The codecs come part of a “desktop video” installer. It installs the codecs and any drivers for BM gear you may have.
