Where did Particle Playground go?
Good afternoon everyone.
I’m a spanish publicist who has recently acquired a legal copy of Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection. I’ve been practising with the tutorials at this website since then, and found them really useful.
My problem comes when I try to use this Particle Playground plug-in everyone’s talking about. I’ve read it’s a free plug-in included in After Effects. I’ve read it’s the solution when you try to create quite spectacular effects without external plug-ins. And yet, call me idiot (please), I can’t find it anywhere.
I’m trying to get some help from Adobe, but I’d also like to post my problem here. I’ve been searching the forums in order to find someone else having the same problem, but I got no results (or at least I didn’t find them). Does anybody know what could be my problem? I mean, did Adobe stop including this plug-in when they released CS3? Or is it not included in the spanish distribution of the software? Or has its name been translated and I can’t find the new name?
Any idea?

Its in CS3 and CS4.Look under the menu: Effects > Simullation > Particle Playground

Thanks, I just found it… but believe me, I had to fight for it! See, Particle Playground in spanish should be something like “Patio de recreo de partículas”, which is what I was looking for. How could I ever know that, in the spanish version, it’s been called “Animación de objetos” (Object Animation)?
If anyone else from Spain has this problem, forget about the original name. It’s precisely where Brian here told me to look… but it’s called “Animación de objetos”.

Considering the fact that the majority of available After Effects tutorials are in English, the translation of plugin names (for other languages) should be as accurate as possible. Changing the (meaning of) names is a huge blunder by Adobe, resulting in much potential confusion. Perhaps a listing of all the translations needs to be created and posted by Adobe.

Well, I usually don’t have major problems with the language issue; when I don’t understand the meaning of something, I open the help file in my spanish software and the online english help file and just compare. But yes, maybe a little list of spanish plug-in names should be useful.
I could help with it. If you give me some time, I could gather as many spanish names (and their english matches) as I can.
