  • Where are the 8-bit and 10-bit quicktime codecs located?

    Posted by Mike on August 1, 2005 at 11:25 pm

    One of our G5s had a currupt system file and would not boot, so I needed to do an “arhive and install” to bring it back up and running. Although most of my user settings appear intact, I no longer have the two uncompressed codecs as an available quicktime codec. Is it possible to pull these codecs over from one of my other Kona 2 machines? If so, where in OSX are these files located? I tried doing a search but could not find them. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    HardDrive->library->Quicktime

    You’ll find them in there under FCPUncompressed or something like that.

    I’m not in front of my machine, this is an estimated guess. I take no responsibility if this is wrong 🙂

    I’ll check when I get in the office tomorrow sometime.
