When Using Slip/Roll Tool– Red Screens Instead of Video?
Whenever I use the Slip or Roll Tool on this particular FCP system, the two little dual screens that normally appear in the Canvas window showing me the in and out frames of the clip that I’m working with are now completely red. I do not see any video in either screen, although I can slip or slide (albeit blindly). And no, this is not Channels issue where RGB+Alpha is turned on– this only appears when trying to use the Slip Tool or the Roll Tool: I only see two red screens instead of video in the screens like I normally should.
Also, I cannot see the Show Title Safe overlay. I can see Timecode Overlay and Image+ Wireframe overlay but not Title Safe. I wonder if the two are related? (Red Frames in Slip/Roll Tool and invisible Title Safe overlays) I see this issue in whatever project I open. It is not confined to one project. I have dumped the Prefs (com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist) which does not remedy.
I’m wondering if its a display issue even though I didn’t have this problem until recently.
I do have a dual screen monitor arrangement in this edit suite even though I’m not using it when cutting DV. For the main edit monitor, I have a Apple Cinema 30″ screen with a Apple 23″ as the second monitor. This is used by our Matrox MXO for HDV work but it is not being used (I can turn off the second monitor and MXO and still get the two red screen issue) I’ve also confirmed my Canvas screen is not “leaking” into my second monitor too.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
