June 14, 2011 at 2:13 amIn lieu of official response, it’s late June according to BMD distributor as of 1 week ago. It also depends on when and if you pre-ordered. The few of them that I ordered back in early May will likely ship sometime in July.

June 14, 2011 at 7:24 amThanks Alex,
Just weighing up whether to spend the money (as cheap as it is) on the HyperDeck or put it towards a SD PIX240 or similar. The unit is cheap but the SSD’s will cost more than the recorder. But then the entry price is sssssoooooooo attractive.

Can any SSD be used on the deck, or are there recommended ones?

June 21, 2011 at 6:19 pmWe’ve tested some of these
1) OCZ Vertex 3 240 Gb
2) Kingston V+ 64GB & 128GB
3) Crucial C300 256GB
4) Crucial M4 256 GbOne thing we’ve noticed is that it seems drives with the Vertex 2 chipsets seem to do some sort of compression on the fly which severely limit speed. The Vertex 3 chipsets do a lot better. The Kingstons i’ve used at several shows and work solidly. Crucials are nice too.
As we move forward we will continually test new drives and get feedback from the customers on drives that are working and not working.
Hope that helps.
Sincerely,
Joshua

July 6, 2011 at 8:10 pmHello, with regards to the Hyper Deck Shuttle, does this unit have the ability when conected via HDSDI to cue it’s record from the HDSDI output from the camera?
Thanks
Colin
