  • When exporting a still frame, still is not 16×9

When in FCP2, I export a still image, it comes out almost square, instead of the widescreen 16×9 that I see in my viewer. Footage was shot 16×9, so I end up stretching it in Photoshop to get the correct dimensions. I’ve tried PNG and TIFF exports at best quality. How do I get a widescreen still image to export? Thanks.

What are yo exporting? DV? That’s my guess. The way you’re doing it is the right way. All DV is 720 pixels wide. To make it 16:9 it’s squeezed anamorphically. You have to undo that in Photoshop.

    All the best,
