    Hello all,

I’ve been producing TV spots for close to 20 years, and I am wondering when we will all just say “screw it, SD is dead and if the end user can’t see my logo or price point, then I don’t care”.

I guess my real question is – do I have the power to do so? Can I tell stations to play as is, or will they reject it?

I’m just getting tired of limiting my design to really old standards.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

It sucks, yes, but it’s not up to us. It’s up to networks and their specs. If they say it must be center-cut safe, then you gotta comply. For what it’s worth, though, I’ve been able to do my center cut title safety business at 90% rather than the former SD 80% safety, and this has been acceptable. But yeah, there’s not much getting around it (yet).
