When and if to upgrade graphics drivers
So, the scenario:
I love using FCPX on my older iMac; it just keeps getting better. But management is pushing the shop towards the Adobe suite and so I have been transitioning to using Premiere CC here and there. Now comes the problem, and you’ll get why I’m posting it here and not in the Adobe forums in a sec. –
Opening the latest version of Premiere, I get a warning that I need to update my drivers for the graphics card in order to have Premiere be stable. (And BOY is it UN-stable right now).
Here’s the report:

So, my worry is, should I upgrade the drivers now, would that endanger my stable FCPX system, and this is important since we’re about to do two weeks of daily, intensive news production where ANY delays would be critical. I can’t confirm yet but it looks like I might have to update the OS at the same time, and I never like doing that, as I’ll likely lose some more of my dwindling collection of much-loved legacy apps.
So, HiveMind: what do we think? Safe to proceed, or wait until the upcoming BIG Project is safely in the rear-view mirror?
I think I have an older version of Prem installed that might still be working… but I just don’t want to trust it at the moment…

So you’re going to have to update your system to 10.14 and it specifically says CUDA (what it wants you to update) isn’t supported in 10.14.
Can you just turn CUDA off in Premiere and see if it’s happy?

I went thru the preferences pane for Prem CC and couldn’t find a sub-menu for drivers or the graphics cards… I must be looking in the wrong place.
