Whats with the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Media Cache ? Why is it so huge?
Im working on some large HDV sequences. Each project is around 200gigabytes, all on external HD’s.
1. Each time i open a project, it indexes every single clip. This takes around 45 minutes, and i can barely edit during this time.
2. I’ve noticed that the longer i work on a project file, the larger the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Media Cache folder gets. It’s filled with “.mcdb” files, which is some sort of intermediate file for other adobe applications. It’s like it’s rendering everything all over again every time i open Premiere. After a week worth of work, the folder is going over 100 gigs. Cant i just switch this off somewhere?Whats going on?
All clips where captured on a PC running CS4. They are all .mpegs. Im working on Mac Os X 10.6.4 on an Intel Imac.
Any ideas? This is driving me nuts!
