What’s better in Premiere CS5.5 – Nvidia Quadro K1100M / Geforce GTX 860M / GTX 870M ?
Hi
I’m in the process of buying a new laptop to primarily edit Canon 5D Mk2 footage in Premiere Pro CS5.5 and was just wondering what GPU would be better? (Re: playback of the timeline with multiple effects and layers and also export times).
I previously had an MSI GT60 with a Nvidia Geforce GTX 770M (my trackpad stopped working after 2 months so I had to return it) and was pretty impressed with the results (I could apply quite a few effect to clips on my timeline as well as colour grade with Magic Bullet Colorista II plug-in all in realtime, playing at 100% resolution. I also graded footage in Davinci Resolve Lite with no problems).
During my research a few people on other forums have advised me to get a Nvidia Quadro GPU as it’s a professional GPU and will give better results than a gaming GPU but other people have said that it’s not worth the extra money and I won’t see many benefits for the extra cost.
I’m more of a creative than a tech person so I really don’t know who to believe!
Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance
Don
