What would I need to do to get the same video quality as this video?
Here are some still shots of behind-the-scenes footage of a Korean commercial film. I’ve read Korean articles about how the behind-the-scenes footage is taken with a DSLR, but they never stated what kind.

What kind of lighting (other than the sunlight from the windows) and lens would I need to get the full (captures entire room) and “soft” look–for lack of a better word–from the video (there aren’t any harsh endges)? Also, what kind of DSLR would be able to replicate the same quality as the still shots and video? I have a Pentax KX right now. Here is a sample of work similar to mine:

If I had to guess, best guess would be:
the dynamic range was 3 f-stops not 10 because they used very soft, diffused lighting and a medium aperture for depth of field, prolly f/5.6. Framerate looks to be 30 fps progressive 1/100 shutter. 5d MarkII 50mm carl zeiss lens. Not much post color correcting. Just white balanced.

Start by using the “Philip Bloom” DSLR camera settings:
Sharpness and contrast all the down to ZERO
Saturation down 2 notches to -2In editing you can add back in as much sharpness, contrast and saturation as your eye likes, just enough to be soft as in “filmic” but not so much that it appears out of focus.
The second sample of video that was more similar to yours had what I would call a more contrasty, saturated blacks kind of look (note: your eyes are different from mine and so your results may vary) and often there was only a strong key light and not much of a bounce light on the other side of the face to balanced it out.

The camera is just one factor.
The Canon or PANASONIC will do the job, but you won’t get that without proper lighting a good make up.
