what would be the best solution for this dvc pro project and fcp??
okay, i have a big project shot on dvc pro. Thing is, our older model dvc pro decks have no firewire out. we had one, but of course the fw card blew and won’t be replaced anytime soon.
in terms of cost effectivness and quality and deadlines, i think these are my options.
1: pass through component dub thru dsr 1500 ( free)
2: rent a deck for two days (450)
3: or perhaps buy a decklink sp card (650) I would get alot of use out of it down the road with our other older decks as well.The final project is dvd. any thoughts appreciated.

If the final project is DVD, then go with the pass through option on your DSR-1500.
For future work, I’d look at the AJA Kona series for Component or SDI connectivity.
