what will export faster?
If I have a project that I want to export as 1080p and the clips are 4k, will the project export faster if I export my 4k sequence or should I make a new sequence that is 1080p, copy and paste the 4K sequence to the 1080p, downsize the clips and then export the 1080p sequence as a 1080p output?

Depending on your system, it’s a debatable decision. While exporting 4K saves processor power by not resizing, it utilizes disk throughput and needs to write far more info.
The 1080P version would use less disk throughput and storage, but need processing for resizing.
Also, why use a 1080 timeline? Unless you’re reframing shots, just set your final size in output.
