I’m asking in this forum for two reasons, because you guys have video production websites, and to follow up on an older thread I started asking about the most compatible video format for the web. That thread answered my question and is here for those that want to see:

So now that I know the format (H.264/AAC in a MP4 wrapper) I am stumped on what player to use to be most widely adaptable. Flash? Quicktime? JW Player? Server side player? Cloud?
Even though the file format is cross compatible, if I use a Flash player, and someone doesn’t have Flash or the proper version Flash, the Quicktime player won’t open and vice versa.
I am using Dreamweaver to create my website.

    Thanks in advance,
    IAn.

I’ve been using this Flash player for video and audio for a few years and have had great luck with it using H.264 files:

The support is excellent and there is a on-site “Wizard” that allows you to re-design the player to your specs without having to buy Adobe Flash (CS4 or 5).

    Good luck,
    Dave
