So, i am currently having acces to $8000, and need to put myslef together a good HD/DV camera/audio package to use for freelancing and my own production work. I shoot some nicely produced pieces AND some run and gun interviews and thing. My clients range from Music Videos and shorts to fashion industry interview to conventions to skate/snowboard videos. This is the package i have priced out right now, can i get some opinion.

    All priced from B&H

HVX200a package (includes 2 long life batteries and Petrol bag)
    $5500

Sachtler 0473 FSB-6 Aluminum Tripod System
    $1600

Sennheiser Evolution G2 wireless microphone Basic kit
(comes with transmitter/reciever, lav mic, stick mic w/ xlr transmitter and small pelican case)
    $870

    Anyways
i chose the HVX for handheld capability and over and undercranking(HUGE FOR SKATE AND SNOWBOARD FOOTAGE) plus ease of dv deck which is still a standard for lots of clients

Looks like a good package. However, some questions:

–Does your HVX package include any P2 cards? How many? How long can you shoot before you have to dump the cards onto a computer?

–Have you researched the post flow problems with this camera and are you equipped to handle it?

–Do you already have the lights you need?

–Do you need a wide-angle lens?
