What the what? After effects 2019 cannot save for earlier versions?
I don’t understand. we are slowly upgrading our computers to windows 10. But what we did not know was that once you open a project in AE 2019 windows 10, it cannot be opened on other computers or saved for earlier versions. What on earth? We saved it as ae 15 and ae 14 and XML and none of them would open on 2018 AE….Now..adobe doesnt care…but now that I know I can avoid that problem..

It “can ” save for earlier versions..however they cannot be opened with AE 2018 or below…at least in our case where only the 1 computer is widows 10…for the time being

You have never been able to directly open a newer AEP from an older version of Ae.
You can save down from Ae 2019 to Ae 2018 via File > Save As > Save a copy as CC (15.x) — I know this works because I just did it yesterday — but of course if your project is dependent on a new feature in 2019, that will not work.
