Im using a Macpro with FCP studio and an AJA Kona card and external G-raid drives this setup is usually perfect for me as im usually working with Digi beta but as i ve never worked with the HD format before im wondering if it ll do. any help for this HD virgin would be greatly appericeated

    Cheers

Which Kona card? What do you need to output to? Has the footage already been captured at DVCPRO HD resolution?

I simply color correct the DVCPRO HD footage, then output it to tape using the Kona 3. But we need to cross convert from 720p to 1080p.

Just use the DVCPro HD Easy Setup to match your footage. You can capture either with the AJA Kona board, which is what we do now, using the AJA Kona 720/59.94 DVCPro HD Easy Setup.

Or, if you want to capture Firewire, simply choose the DVCPro HD 720/60 Easy Setup and switch your Playback to the AJA Kona card.

If you have the Kona 3, you can cross convert your 720 to 1080i either during Ingest or during mastering.
