What screencast / recording solution for edit in FCP?

Oops! My bad. Screen records your full screen at whatever screen size you set your monitor to.
I meant to say 1920×1200 so you can crop that to 1920×1080.

The free Quicktime X feature records in H.264. I wouldn’t want to put that in a timeline. Then you’re faced with transcoding that already compressed file to another codec.

I’d much prefer to capture using ScreenFlows high quality capture and export directly to ProRes. ScreenFlow also has some unique feature that you can build in before export that would be very hard to duplicate in FCP.

Well, looks like I’m going to be buying Screenflow. It’s good to know it is so well regarded.
