Hi, I will be editing a project that will be shot on Red. The assistant editor is suggesting that he will send me the offline material as 1280×720 or as 1920×1080. He seems to think that 1280×720 will definitely be good enough. I will be editing on my laptop and I have FCP 6.0.4. What resolution do you suggest I ask for?

Thank you all kind people in advance : )

For OFFLINE editing? Heck, DVCPRO HD 720p would be just fine. Matching frame rate to what you shot, of course.

They did this for ZODIAK…major feature. And JARHEAD.

Check out editing Red in FCP using the red proxies. The medium proxy is 720p I believe. You should be able to find all the necessary work flows on Red’s site.
